Telematics Award 2012: Implico nominated for IDM

08/16/2012 Telematics Award 2012: Implico nominated for IDMPrizes to be awarded to the most innovative telematics solutions at the IAA in Hanover

For many transportation and logistics businesses, vehicle telematics makes a major contribution to gaining and maintaining a competitive edge. On 20 September 2012, the most innovative and feature-rich examples of this technology will be recognized with the 2012 Telematics Award. Telematik-Markt.de, the trade journal organizing the event, has now named the prize nominees. Implico has been nominated in the category “Sector-Specific Telematics: Logistics and Loading” for its IDM (Integrated Dispatch Management) software solution. IDM aids resource planners in planning optimum delivery tours.

For trading and logistics companies, tour optimization is a critical aspect of business. Optimized delivery tours can be used to balance out increasing time pressure, ever-greater distances, plus rising personnel and fuel costs. This enables businesses to achieve significantly higher margins. With its high potential savings, the SAP solution IDM offers attractive ROIs for companies with a pool of ten or more vehicles – a fact recognized by the 18-strong jury of the 2012 Telematics Awards.

Leading a field of over 180 competitors
The Telematics Award is presented in a total of ten categories, plus two special prizes and a user prize. In each case, three companies have been nominated. Interest in this industry sector award was also very high, with the jury receiving a total of 217 submissions. As a nominee, Implico has therefore already beaten off 180 other companies and is one of the top 36 companies in its industry sector.

Awards to be presented by Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs Jörg Bode
The 2012 Telematics Awards will be presented on 20 September at the IAA Utility Vehicles trade show in Hanover, at 2 p.m. in the Convention Center’s Conference Room A3. Prizes will be presented personally by Lower Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Transport Jörg Bode, who has also assumed patronage of this event. He will be joined by VDA CEO Dr. Kay Lindemann and Katharina Klischewsky, Editor-in-Chief of Telematik-Markt.de.
