Integration is key topic at StocExpo

03/22/2012 Integration is key topic at StocExpoGreat interest in Implico presentation with TanQuid / Trade show visitors impressed by OpenTAS 5.0

StocExpo 2012, the leading annual event in Europe for the tank terminal industry which took place in Rotterdam this year, was a complete success for Implico.  From 13 to 15 March, numerous attendees visited the booth of the international consulting and software company to find out about terminal administration and automation. Many of the visitors were particularly interested in the centralized administration of loading depots. This was also the focus of the well-attended presentation that Implico gave at the accompanying conference together with the tank terminal operator TanQuid. Attendees were additionally eager to find out about OpenTAS 5.0, the latest release of Implico’s terminal administration and automation system which includes EMCS 2.0.

“StocExpo is a great event for Implico,” said Jürgen König, Head of Sales International at Implico, summarizing the days in Rotterdam. “Every year, the trade show offers an outstanding opportunity to meet existing customers, business associates and potential new customers in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Discussions this year centered on data communication between field equipment, loading systems and ERP systems; consistent company-wide reporting; and the centralized administration of loading depots. During the conference presentation by Steffen Schliesing, Senior Account Manager at Implico, it was apparent that Implico has tapped into a current trend with these issues. Together with Thomas Knutzen, Head of IT at TanQuid GmbH & Co. KG, he presented Implico’s successful project for the tank terminal operator in front of an audience of about 100 people. The title of his talk was “How to achieve operational excellence while managing tanks and terminals effectively, competitively and cost efficiently through a central administration approach.”

The first concrete customer inquiry was made right after the presentation, and later many other attendees stopped by the booth for more information.

Visitors to the Implico booth were also very impressed by the new features of OpenTAS 5.0, the latest release of the terminal administration and automation system that was unveiled at StocExpo. They particularly welcomed the redesigned, more clearly organized and user-friendly interface, the simplified data management system and the ability to generate individual reports for everyone involved in the supply chain.

Although StocExpo is a European trade show, many visitors to the Implico stand came from outside Europe, including from the fast-growing markets in Brazil and India as well as various African countries.
