On 10 August 2012, Tesco kicks off its series of fundraising events to help beat cancer. On this day, the world's third-largest retailer is sponsoring a major sporting event that aims to raise as much money as possible for the charity Cancer Research UK. Even before the event had started, Implico’s UK office had already donated £500.
The British retail giant Tesco is one of Implico's biggest UK customers. The company uses the OpenTAS Terminal Management and Terminal Automation System to automate deliveries to its network of over 500 service stations. When asked by Tesco to contribute to the charity, Implico’s UK managing director Chris Williams responded immediately: "This is a wonderful and very worthwhile event that Tesco has organized. The vital battle against cancer never stops and we are glad to be able to support it.”
